I had this idea to create a jar cozy. I had been sewing coffee cozys for a while now. This “jar cozy” seems like an easy transition.
I am in a lunch club with a few girlfriends. We exchange healthy jar lunches on Tuesdays. Sometimes we have to pour boiling hot water into the jars for soup. My hand gets really hot. JAR COZY! That would solve my problem, plus they are cute!
Off to the sewing machine I went. I cut my fabric 3×12.5 inches, right sides together, placed my hair binder, left a hole to flip my fabric.
EASY PEASY. EXCEPT….this kept happening.
The scissor button kept flashing and wouldn’t sew. I find myself getting really MAD…at Darren! It’s all his fault that my machine is not working. He SELLS them….why would he sell me a machine that has a blinking scissor issue!!
I take a deep breath and call him. I tell him my problem and the first thing he says to me is, “Did YOU sew over anything you should not have?”
I say, “No, I did not. Why do you always assume that it is MY fault. This is clearly your fault for selling machines with scissor issues!”
He leads me through some trouble shooting and I no longer have blinking scissors. YAY!
I go back to sewing. I flip over my fabric and this is what I find….
Whoops! So I forgot ONE little pin. My machine sewed THROUGH it so nicely, I didn’t even know it happened. Until, of course, the blinking scissor issue.
I now think to myself, “Should I call Darren and tell him?” Then I think, ignorance is bliss! He does not need to know. I still have NOT told him. This is my little test to see if he actually reads my BLOG. (Kerry if you tell him, I am not longer your friend or drinking buddy!)
I figure all is well that ends well! My jar cozys turned out adorable, my machine is working, and Darren isn’t telling me, “I told you so!”
Cheers!
